Play Alberta Unveils New Sportsbook in August

BtoBet, a subsidiary of sports betting provider Neo Games, announced this week that it will make its debut in North America through its entry into Alberta. 릴게임 The brand has agreed to a long-term deal with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission to revamp Play Alberta Sportsbook, the only legal online casino platform in the province.

As mentioned, PlayAlberta.ca is the only regulator that offers legal online gambling and sports betting. Some of its offerings include plenty of jackpots to watch out for, slots praised by lottery wins, table games, and instant games. Revenue generated from the website is invested in the state’s valuable programs and services used daily.

As part of the long-term agreement, BtoBet will support the expansion and upgrade of PlayAlberta’s digital sportsbook, and the sports betting provider will leverage a fully managed sportsbook solution to provide unrivaled sports betting entertainment to local athletes. AGLC is expected to complete the sportsbook migration with the vendor’s technology during the third quarter of 2023.

According to the Crown Corporation, some of the new features that will be incorporated into the online sportsbook will include player props from all major North American leagues, such as the NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA. Players can also expect new promotional options such as single-round matches, additional markets and leagues, additional full bets and multipliers and play multipliers.

Rework on the sports betting platform will enable a world-class player experience for all verticals on the website. However, a fully managed sportsbook will still utilize AGLC’s responsible gambling programs, such as Game Sense and Self Exclusion, to give players exclusive features to promote healthy playing habits, such as betting, losing, and limiting daily sessions.

The Crown agency also informed the media that sports betting services will be suspended while sportsbook providers go through the migration process. This is expected to occur between August 12 and August 14, 2023. During this period, users still have access to their accounts and all other games that are typically available on the iGaming platform.

Not long ago, Alberta announced plans to launch a regulated sports betting market for gambling players on its Grey Market website. However, local governments have chosen a limited operator model that allows two private operators to participate in the iGaming segment. This model is quite different from the open framework in Ontario.

However, there seems to have been some delay in realizing the plan as there has been no related news for a while. Initially, the province planned to launch the project by the end of 2022, but it was delayed because it was not completed.
