Paradise Co Jan Casino Revenue Up US$56M, 55pct Year-over-Year
Paradise Inc., the South Korean operator of foreign-only gaming venues, reported a 54.9 percent year-on-year increase in casino revenue in January, slightly exceeding 74.53 billion won, according to data submitted to the Korea Exchange on Friday.
Casino revenue in January represented a sequential 17.7% increase in Paradise’s December tally: nearly 63.33 billion won.
Table game sales in January amounted to about W69.66 billion, up 56.2% from a year earlier and up 18.3% sequentially. Machine game sales reached W4.88 billion last month, up 38.2% from a year ago and 9.5% from December.
No comment was provided on the company’s monthly update on factors affecting the evolution of earnings.
Table drops in January, the amount that customers exchanged from game tables to chips, fell 2.2 percent sequentially to 568.94 billion won. This decrease was 19.4 percent year-on-year.
Paradise Co.’s latest casino figures are based on the results of four venues operated by its casino business division: Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Busan Casino in the southern port city of Busan, and Paradise City in Incheon, near the main international airport serving the Korean capital, Seoul.
