GRAND KOREA LEGERSE Q2 NET LOSS TO USD 6 MILLION
Grand Korea Leisure Inc. (GKL), which operates foreign-only casinos in South Korea, reported on Wednesday that its second-quarter net loss fell sequentially from a year earlier.
The second-quarter net loss came to 7.99 billion won ($6.09 million), down slightly from 10.78 billion won in the previous quarter and 18.86 billion won in the same period a year earlier, according to Grand Korea Leisure’s financial results submitted to the Korea Exchange on Wednesday.
Casino operators’ cumulative net loss in the first half of the year was 18.77 billion won, down 66.2% from net loss of 55.49 billion won in the first half of 2021.
Grand Korea Leisure also recorded an operating loss of 10.71 billion won in the second quarter, down from 13.23 billion won in the previous quarter and 25.99 billion won in the previous year.
The company posted revenue of 48.07 billion won in the second quarter, up 2.6% from the previous quarter.
Grand Korea Leisure is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
