Genting Malaysia Theme Park Recruitment Starts
Genting Skyworld, a new outdoor theme park (artist’s rendering photo) set to open this year at Malaysia’s Resort World Genting Casino complex, has launched a nationwide recruitment campaign for up to 1,500 workers, the Malaysian Mail newspaper reported, citing executives at Genting Malaysia Bhd.
In February, management said “more than $800 million” was being invested in Genting Skyworld.
Maybank Investment Bank Bhd said in some comments on April 20 that the new attraction, which is set to open in the middle of the year, will likely be a significant catalyst for Genting Malaysia’s earnings in 2022, despite affecting the country and affecting overseas tourism.
According to the Malay Mail, the park’s management will hold auditions for “live entertainment teams,” including singers, dancers, performers, musicians, and actors. Gregory Pearn, the theme park and experience director at Resorts World Genting, mentioned that it provides updates on the park.
The theme park spans 26 acres (10.52 hectares) and can accommodate up to 20,000 tourists at a time under normal trading conditions, according to previous information released to the media by Genting Malaysia.
The theme park will feature rides and images with themes linked to the 20th Century Fox movie brand.
