Departing on the 16th to participate in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championships

The Korean men’s volleyball team took on another challenge for world volleyball. The Korea Volleyball Association announced on the 16th that “the Korean men’s volleyball team will participate in the 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championships in 2023 to be held in Urmia, Iran from August 19 to 26.”

A total of 14 players will be dispatched to the men’s national team led by coach Lim Do-heon. Hwang Seung-bin (KB Insurance) and Hwang Taek-eui (Army Sports Corps) will lead the setter team, while Park Gyeong-min (Hyundai Capital) and Lee Sang-wook (Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance) will be responsible for the libero position.

A total of five players, including Na Gyeong-bok (Ministry of Defense), Jeong Ji-seok (Korean Air), Jeong Han-yong (Korean Air), 토토 Lim Seong-jin (Korea Electric Power Corporation), and Jeon Kwang-in (Hyundai Capital), are outside hitters, and Heo Soo-bong (Hyundai Capital), Lim Dong-hyeok (Korean Air) is in charge. The middle blockers were Kim Gyu-min (Korean Air), Lee Sang-hyeon (Woori Card), and Kim Min-jae (Korean Air).

Korea belongs to Group F at the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championships and faces Bangladesh (August 19) and Pakistan (August 21) in turn. Up to 2nd place in the group advances to the round of 12 playoffs.
